States of Bliss is operated by States Of Bliss, a limited liability company registered in the State of Florida, United States. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means you.
By creating an account or using States of Bliss, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
States of Bliss is a wellness app. You describe how you feel, and it builds you a session: a soundscape, a breathing practice, an affirmation and a short protocol to carry into your day.
It is not medical care. Please read the next section properly rather than skipping it. It is the most important part of this page.
States of Bliss does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Nothing in the app is a substitute for care from a doctor, therapist, psychiatrist or any other qualified professional. Nothing it tells you should be treated as a clinical opinion about you.
If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis line in your country. The app is not monitored by humans in real time. Nobody is watching your check-ins as you write them. If you are at risk, reach a person who can help you now.
Breathing practices carry real risks. Most of the practices in States of Bliss are gentle. Two of them, Breath of Fire and Wim Hof style breathing, deliberately speed your breathing up. These can cause light-headedness, tingling and, in some people, fainting.
Before using any breathing practice, and particularly those two, you should speak to a doctor if you are pregnant, or if you have epilepsy, a heart condition, high blood pressure, glaucoma, a panic disorder, or any other significant medical condition.
Never practise breathing exercises in or near water, or while driving or operating machinery. Sit or lie down. If a practice stops feeling right, stop.
You use these practices at your own risk, and you are responsible for deciding whether a practice is appropriate for you.
You must be 18 or over to use States of Bliss. By creating an account you confirm that you are.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@statesofbliss.com if you believe someone else has access to it.
Give us accurate information when you sign up. If you use an email address you cannot access, we may not be able to help you recover your account.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Deletion is permanent.
What is free. Personalised sessions are free, with no limit on how many you can do, along with your progress over time.
What is paid. The longer journeys, called depth mode, are part of membership.
Prices. Membership is $7.99 per month or $70 per year, in US dollars. If you are outside the United States your bank may convert this into your own currency, and the amount you see may differ slightly because of exchange rates and any fees your bank charges.
The free trial. Membership begins with a 7 day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. You will not be charged during the trial.
What happens at the end of the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your membership begins and your card is charged at the price you selected. It then renews automatically at that price, monthly or annually, until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Membership page in the app, which takes you to a page where you can end your membership immediately. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged at all. If you cancel after the trial, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Refunds. Changed your mind? Email us within 14 days of your first payment, or of a yearly renewal, and we will refund it in full. After that, you can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. This does not affect your legal rights. Email hello@statesofbliss.com.
Price changes. If we ever change the price of membership, we will tell you before it affects you, and you will have the chance to cancel before any new price is charged. We will not raise the price of an existing membership without telling you first.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.

If you do any of these, we may suspend or close your account.
What you write stays yours. Your check-ins, your ratings and everything you put into the app belong to you. You give us permission to use them only to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
What we build for you is yours to use. The sessions the app creates for you are yours to use personally, for as long as you like. You may not resell them or pass them off as your own product.
The app itself is ours. The States of Bliss name, design, code, breathing library, soundscapes and everything else that makes up the service remain our property.
We will do our best to keep States of Bliss running and working well. We cannot promise it will always be available or always free of faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and if we withdraw something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you and refund you fairly.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Unless you have broken these terms, we will refund any unused portion of a membership you have paid for.
No guarantees about outcomes. We believe in what we have built and we have grounded it in real evidence, but we cannot promise that States of Bliss will make you feel any particular way, or that it will help with any condition. It is offered as it is.
Limits on our liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Some places give you rights these terms cannot remove. If you are a consumer in the UK, the European Union or elsewhere with laws that give you rights beyond these terms, those rights still apply and nothing here takes them away.
Which law applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, and any dispute will be dealt with in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim closer to home.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel your membership and delete your account.
